Forklift Driver Job Summary:

The forklift driver position is accountable for ensuring the delivery of all raw materials to specified areas on the production floor, while operating a forklift. The forklift driver position is for our Cambridge, NY location.

Forklift Driver Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all directions from Shift Leadership
  • Adhere to all Morcon safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all break schedules
  • Inspect forklift and complete inspection checklist on a daily basis
  • Stage paper rolls on the production floor in the appropriate area
  • Secure and deliver raw materials (paper, sleeves, cartons, pallets, etc.) to specified areas on production floor for all assets
  • Organize, wrap, and transfer unused raw material from production floor into inventory when a product changeover occurs
  • Pick up waste from newly open pallets and dispose in proper containers
  • Pick up finished product pallets from production floor
  • Wrap all finished product pallets
  • Transfer all finished product pallets to warehouse
  • Complete product transfer forms and submit at end of each shift
  • Maintain the raw material warehouse and inventory area in an organized, clean, and safe manner
  • Assist with stacking finished cases on pallets, when needed
  • Assist with changing paper rolls on machines, when needed
  • Assist with forklift when paper roll needs to be loaded on machine’s back stand
  • Performs other duties as required, including, but not limited to, Material Handling responsibilities
  • Flexible to work overtime hours when needed

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be safety focused
  • Must be energetic with a positive attitude
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team
  • Must be dependable and have reliable transportation
  • Must have current or previous forklift certification
  • Available to work any shift
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse work environment
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude is preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, twist and bend regularly to complete job tasks
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
