Connie Parmenter, HR Generalist

Education: B.A in Organizational Management from Johnson State College, MBA in Human Resources from Fitchburg State University.

Connie is the Human Resource Generalist for Morcon’s NYS division. In this position, she handles a wide variety of administrative & compliance-oriented tasking including maintaining employee records, administering benefits & payroll, prioritizing team safety & employee engagement. Connie loves being in the people business. She says, “For me, human resources is about building a team and growing people. We spend the majority of our lives working. I am committed to making the workplace a productive, fun, and safe place.”

When not focusing on growing the team at Morcon, Connie loves to cook and entertain. She also enjoys getting away for some relaxing beach time, and spending time hiking, playing tennis or enjoying Sunday dinners with her husband and two children.

Era To Revisit: The turn of the 20th century. My grandmother, Mary Sneed, was born in 1895 and was a strong advocate for the suffragette movement for women’s voting rights earned in 1920. Sadly, because my grandmother was an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, she was not allowed to vote until 1946. The rest of her life she volunteered every election day at the polls. Not exercising the right to vote was unacceptable in our family. I am extremely proud to come from a long line of strong women. I would have loved the opportunity to be their elbow fighting for the right to vote!
